Using Zoom

1. Download the Zoom Client for Meetings.
2. Open Zoom from your Start menu. If you are not signed in, you will see the sign-in screen.

3. Click Sign in with SSO.
4. When prompted for a domain, enter ucla.zoom.us.

5. Complete UCLA Single Sign-On as usual.
6. When prompted, open Zoom Meetings. If it does not launch automatically, click Launch Zoom on the page where you signed in.

1. Click New Meeting.
2. Choose whether to connect with video or audio.
3. Review the meeting details screen.

Use Copy Link to share the meeting URL in chat or email. The details screen has everything participants need to join.

Click Join to see a short list of recent meeting links — no need to hunt for a long URL to rejoin a recurring meeting.

• Audio options: Click the ^ next to Mute to choose speakers and microphone. Use the test function to verify audio devices.
• Video options: Click the ^ next to Start Video to choose a camera, virtual background, or video filter. Virtual backgrounds work best with a green screen but are not required. Use + to upload your own image or video.
• Security: The host controls what participants can do — chat, share screen, unmute themselves, and more.
• Screen sharing: Share a full display or a specific window. You can also share computer audio (bottom-left corner), which sends all audio output — use headphones when sharing audio.

In Advanced sharing options, allow multiple users to share simultaneously, use a PowerPoint as a background, or add a second camera in picture-in-picture mode.
