Email Accounts at EPSS

All UCLA community members are eligible for free Google Workspace accounts with @ucla.edu and @g.ucla.edu addresses. To learn more and set up your account, visit g.ucla.edu.

Google accounts are lifetime accounts for academic appointees and students who hold a degree. UCLA also provides lifetime email forwarding for your @ucla.edu address. For account retention after leaving UCLA, see IT Services: account retention.

Faculty, researchers, staff, and postdoctoral scholars in EPSS are eligible for a departmental email account (username@epss.ucla.edu) provided by Enterprise Messaging. While you have an active employment relationship with EPSS, the account remains active.

We cannot provide lifetime access to departmental accounts after employment ends. Only faculty who retire from EPSS may keep their accounts after retirement.

Graduate students may receive a departmental address if employed as a GSR or TA, but it is not required. EPSS IT recommends considering whether a departmental address should be your primary email while at UCLA, since you cannot take it with you when you leave. Request department email

EPSS works with Enterprise Messaging to provide mailing lists for department members. Lists are available to faculty, researchers, and staff. Graduate students and student organizations should contact the helpdesk to inquire about options.

All department members are added to an official communications list (until graduation or separation). Additional lists exist for labs, interest groups, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

To request a new mailing list, email help@epss.ucla.edu with:

• Desired list address (@epss.ucla.edu)
• A responsible party in EPSS to act as list owner
• The UCLA Logon ID of any administrators or moderators to add
